The United States started to print small size paper currency in 1929 as part of the “National Stability” period. The standard size for the small paper money is 6 1/8 by 2 5/8. The full size notes previously measured 7 3/8 by 3 1/8 and are considered large notes. Small size currency is currently the money in circulation; the US stopped printing large currency in 1929. Today some of the old small currency is highly collectible and investors and collectors seek them in hope of value appreciations. Pictures of US small currency are displayed at the Federal Reserve Bank.
